.... and this dude Schmitt was Attorney General in Missouri???? Did he not learn that as a prosecutor you do not ask a question that you do not know the answer for especially about undebateable facts like something as easy as this?
This was amateur hour. If he had done that in a DAs office, he would find himself no longer working in a DAs office. This makes every other question along that line ridiculous. The only hat then for Republicans to hang their hat on is Grassley's and that is irrelevant since those records were secured by a legitimate search warrant issued by a judge

I take back the search warrant thing. He used a Grand Jury subpoena and court orders to obtain toll records. Still legal.

This was all set up as a spectacle to trap Smith in a perjury trap, because their larger point (that he was in Atlanta that day) was weak.
But, nope, Idiocracy. They proved today he was sever states away when they were trying to argue he was coordinating with Fannie/her ex
Because that says nothing about Jack Smith and only about the argument of Schmidt and evidence supporting that argument.

Yep. Smith has been slapped down by the Supreme Court for his unethical behavior on more than one occasion. Yet all the team debaters care about is a senator made an unforced error.

I have learned many years ago that these so called investigative hearing are nothing but show.n it gives the Senators and Congress people face time to their base to say here I am doing something.
If they want to do their investigations then let real investigators and prosecutors do it and have these elected politicians work on policies that may actually amount to something. Republicans suck at these hearings because they are never organized. They make a lot of noise, but in the end it's just noise.

He's the guy that took an attempted perjury trap and made the attempt look foolish....and I was never a fan of his DC indictment.
As an attorney, never ask a question you do not 100% know the answer and can back it up 3 different ways. Schmitt went for the spectacle and did it without a net or a safety harness and had it force fed back to him.
Stick to medical stuff.

Counselor, you should know that in a public setting that if you the prosecutor makes an unforced error that makes it look like you are manufacturing evidence, you will get slapped down twice. Once by judge and once by a jury.

You were way ahead of me on the learning curve. As a kid, I was glued to the TV watching the Watergate hearings. By and large, the questions were actually relevant. You couldn't tell which party the Senator or Congressman came from.
NOW I understand these hearings are just for show. On those terms, unfortunately, the Republicans got boat raced by the Democrats today all because of Schmitt's stunt.
