There’s not even any consensus as to whom the term is supposed to bother. What a stupid thread.

Instead of any substantive discussion, it's imaginary fights over very-online discontent over very online-terms centered on weird loyalty tests

I follow conservative twitter a lot, including lots of MAGA voices, and I'd have no idea what "panican" was but for this board.

translation: chronically online Trump loyalists invent silly term to belittle chronically online former(?) Trump loyalists.

Most wholesome, reasonable people are conservative, of course

I voted for Perot.

Twice.

It resulted in the only time in modern history where conservative values actually got respected.

Roger the Captain of the SS Panican! How are ya? Have you talked with your Senator Murkowski about why she needed to add MORE debt to bring home the bacon to Alaska? If not, why not? You care so much about the debt....

Is it a play on the word "pelican"?

It's kind of a dumb sounding word honestly.

I think it’s funny how hardcore MAGAs constantly need to create little buzz words or phrases, like it’s super cool or something. Such a childish, treehouse club mentality.

If watching 43 Presidents build 10 Trillion in debt over 240 years, then watching the next 3 build that to 37 Trillion in 15 years doesn't panic you somewhat, then you can't understand the simplest math.

I mean you can factor in inflation into your concern if you want. You're argument makes it sound like the value of the dollar is consistent throughout 46 presidents.

The national debt was $20T in 2016 so your data is not quite accurate.

I get your point though. But you have errors in your post trying to make it look as extreme as possible.

There's a side road I turn down when I go to the airport every month or so. Recently I saw a For Sale sign out front, then a month or so later, the sign was gone - it had been purchased.

The next time I drove by, there was a big black iron gate surrounding the house, and even though it was a 3BR/2.5bath, there were three pick-ups out front, each towing a trailer with landscaping gear, and five other cars. There were about five kids out front playing soccer.

What evidence exists that the house was purchased by Sons of Spain?

I never mentioned 2016. When GWB left office Jan 20 2011, the national debt sat at 10.69T. Three presidents later, it sits at 37T. Those are just facts. I'll give you some measure of inflation, but inflation occurs BECAUSE these people are overspending and printing money.

The progressive movement has been firmly in place, starting with Teddy Roosevelt, pushed hard by Wilson, harder by Roosevelt #2, Truman and LBJ. Obama and Biden picked up the flag.

If you are limited by the actions of the last three presidents then you are completely missing what is happening.

A lot of people here use "evidence" when what they're really talking about is "proof." Surprisingly, some of them claim to be lawyers.

what's happening is math. and, yes, it's panic worthy. when people are sitting with their heads in hands, crying, and wondering out loud "how did this happen!!!???", there will be a few people scattered around quietly holding their hands up.
