it's not what the numbers say it's how the people feel when they vote, that's the one thing that you can't seem to get through your head.

I’m not saying that fuel prices aren’t a negative.
But the singular concentrated media focus on that and none of the many positives is definitely a psy-op designed to mentally beat down voters.

Serious question, no criticism: how do AI data center buildouts strengthen our economy? I’m totally oblivious as to how they even make revenue from the whole AI thing. Would sure like to know if you or anyone else can explain it to me like I’m in grade school

No, they have been harmless just like the next 2,000 that get built.

I didn’t say I was for or against them, and in truth I’m in the middle. All I did was ask two simple questions: how do they strengthen our economy and how do they generate revenue. I asked because I don’t know and I’d like for someone to tell me.
If you’re trying to explain it by saying they create all these jobs during construction, ok then I get that. What happens to those jobs after they’re built? How will losing tens, if not hundreds, of millions of jobs that WILL be displaced by AI, benefit our economy in the long run?
I still don’t know how these AI data centers generate revenue and that was mainly what I wanted to know.

The building is what's propelling our economy. That's your construction and construction-adjacent trades booming.
How AI itself becomes profitable with all of these capital expenditures is a question for the future. I think it's possible (likely?) these data centers mimic the cable buildout of the late 90s. Big negative economic impact at first that others use in a cycle or 2 for explosive economic gains.
