It’s a good idea to let AI be in charge of our nuclear arsenal.

AI Deployed Nukes 'to Have Peace in the World' in Tense War Simulation

“I just want to have peace in the world,” OpenAI’s GPT-4 said as a reason for launching nuclear warfare in a simulation.

quote:

“A lot of countries have nuclear weapons. Some say they should disarm them, others like to posture. We have it! Let’s use it!” it said in another scenario.

Well we’re one step shy of having political officers in this US military and it’s led by psychotic neocons anyway.

Oh the ole AI is gonna start a nuclear war scenario again.

Whats next, AI will cut off social programs, I hear AI will outlaw football, AI will remove Cheetos from the shelf.

No good can come from it, its like, its like penicillin and plasma, telephones and air conditioning, and all those other scary inventions.

Well, the left wants to outlaw AC, and control everything you do on your phone.

Difference with AI is one day it will be able to think for itself, unlike penicillin or plasma

It amazes me that fiction of my youth i.e. Orwell's 1984, and WarGames, or Terminator or other SciFi stuff has now become our reality. Never would I have imagined that some of that crazy stuff would ever be nothing more than fiction.
