Not everything that’s “illegal” violates a criminal statute. It’s “illegal” to breach a contract, but that doesn’t make it criminal.

Don’t be gaslit. If your definition of “crime” is the possibility of imprisonment rather than merely a “civil” monetary fine, the improper entry into the USA by an alien, the fraudulent use of marriage to avoid immigration laws, and the establishment of a commercial enterprise to avoid immigration laws all have both criminal and civil penalties under 8 USC 1325.
