I dont directly communicate with anyone in Italy. I imagine they are quite miserable right now. As far as I'm concerned, if the south koreans are keeping their heads on straight I'm still going to work tomorrow.

Less than 1% of what? Because the death rate is not the only thing causing problems with this disease. The rapid strain on health care systems is probably the most dangerous thing about this whole situation. Italian hospitals are being overwhelmed by this and I'm not sure we're as prepared as we should be for it.
Sure it probably will not be as bad as the doomer predictions, but I'd like to be as prepared as possible in case it's worse than the average person thinks.

I have many in-laws in Ravenna, Italy. This story/narrative is total BS. They are containing it well, and there is much evidence that this is the statistical peak. Viruses can be modeled statistically. This one is no different.

Yes but he’s talking about strains on the health care system. If that’s the case, preventing people from getting it is all you can do. We are already banning travel and quarantining those who have it. What else?

So I understand the risk based on what I've read. Being retired and living on a lake away from a population center I can catch enough fish for food for a while and at the same time can stay away from the general population. I just have to convince my wife to be less social and self-semi-quarantine when it is necessary.
