I’m not arguing whether keeping Iran from going nuclear is a deep state talking point. It is, but that is the crux of the argument. I’m asking you if it is true that Iran was trying to build a nuclear weapon. If so, are you okay with Iran having nuclear capabilities?

They've been trying since the 70s.
The more pertinent question is how far along they actually were.
When this war is over, they will start their nuclear program over again, just as they did after we purportedly destroyed it last summer.

Oh, really? So now you say the really important question is how far along they were in building an atomic weapon. How far along should it have been before the US acted militarily to stop it? What is your threshold that merits action? Or should we not act at all?
The fact is the US is in a no win situation. If we want to stop their nuclear program, this war is necessary. If we don’t, it’s not. What is confusing you about this?

But they'll be starting after having taken the big slide on the Candyland board.
If we have to do this every ten years or so, then we have to do this every ten years or so. It is what it is.
The implied argument that we needn't bother because this one action won't solve the problem is as dumb as saying that I shouldn't brush my teeth today because I'm just going to have to do it again tomorrow.
