I've played Craps at a few Vegas casinos with Jet Fighters from foreign nations training at Nellis. They're in town on the regular in summertime.

FWIW, Qatar will pay for the construction of the facilities, planes and equipment, along with hangars and a squadron operations building on the base.

It's part of an operating US AFB. This is no different than arrangements with other nations so pilots receive training on US aircraft. Nothing new at all

Military aircraft are sold to allies as every new airframe is introduced. Those sales are approved by the Department of War and the State Department. Part of the package the manufacturer receives includes sales to approved buyers. That package includes training for the pilots of those “stripped versions” of the aircraft. Each frame has specific accessories for that frame. The training takes place in the US so that any accidents are controlled by the US on US soil.
Israel takes the airframe and design, improves or alters the design. At times the Air Force looks at the improvements from Israel then makes those improvements to future airframes.
It’s too bad it’s beyond your non voting pay grade.

Yes - we have a huge base there.
And no, Trump is not the issue..... my issue with Qatar predates Trump.
I just don't think cozying up to Qatar, who supports many of the same terrorists and terrorist-adjacent organizations, is a good idea. Much less, giving them this much latitude and support stateside.
I recall another ally's best and brightest shooting up Pensacola NAS not that long ago.

It just seems like a waste of money when the Qataris already own large chunks of colleges and universities around the country. Hell, I'm sure there is some spare Aggie land they could use for this.
