I actually pray for you and success

It is tough but, honestly, shouldn't the American market be enough for what you produce? As I write this I have no idea your acreage.

Keep fighting the good fight for all of our sakes

Sorry you hate democracy. The president has control of tariffs. The issue has been decided.

No, it hasn't been decided. There's a bill that's just been introduced in congress about the tariffs.

S. 1272

To provide for notification to, and review by, Congress with respect to the imposition of duties.

It's very much a political matter and could very well end up deciding the mid-terms.

One thing is for sure is all the tariffs aren't etched in stone at this point. They will change again. Meanwhile the chaos and uncertainty about the future is having a damaging affect on American businesses.

When did I say that?

Just tying to wrap my head around volume of production vs cost bs supply vs selling local vs international

For example let's take milk hypo: it costs me .20/gallon to produce.

What happens? Sell in US for $3.50 - is the profit so much larger to shop with all the added costs? Add in their tariffs and local competition abroad... how does that work?

You suggested that the American market should be enough

What else am I supposed to deduce from that asinine statement?

You should not deduce anything -and calling it asinine shows your ignorance .

I realize there are many idiots on this board but take my words at face value

I asked for an explanation above as to why from a farming standpoint. It's obvious you do not know so let someone who knows answer

Let’s get a couple of things straight: the American farmer did this to themselves a long time ago when they became reliant on subsidies that the small farmer doesn’t get to farm corn and soybeans that the market doesn’t need or want. I can understand that they are upset but again it is self inflicted. Small farmers like my dad were pushed out of the market by corporations and now we are paying the price

Maybe you are but you aren't smart. Just combing through some of your old posts:

quote:

Your exactly right…
In the not to distant future US citizens will be in the position of:
- more job opportunities
- lower or no personal income taxes

- competitively priced products (foreign companies will have to lower their margins to compete with US products..)

If you don’t understand this, your either dumb or have TDS….

You're a MAGA shill with 0 understanding of even basic arithmetic

No one should take anything you say seriously

Why are farmers always complaining about something? Bunch of god damn drama queens

Because they get so much government money and get more when they complain.

This is why broadening this policy for "national security" is going to create many more industries of the same behavior.

The government will pay famers to destroy those crops before they let the price be "great" for (American) consumers.

Farmers need shut up, middle class manufacturing jobs have been losing for 30 years. Besides, the government will bail them out like they have before.

Crops are a commodity. Farmers are struggling due to low grain prices not the trade war. China has to purchase grain from somewhere. They will get it from South America. SA cannot supply all of it, so someone like Brazil will make a trade deal with us if China doesn’t and we will sell Brazil the crops who will then resell them to China

It was going to be a shitty year for farmers before Trump ever announced any tariffs. 2024 was shitty too, this year will be worse

One step at a time, but we have to take the first step.
