The tariffs aren’t discussed here any longer?

Good to know.

The trade war will likely prove to be a net negative for Americans

There is nothing pointing to any other scenario at this point

Jamie Dimon is saying the best cause scenario right now is a mild recession.

The tariffs have been decided. They took effect on Liberation Day. Elections have consequences.

Whatever economic consequences flow from the tariffs is a money board issue.

I’ve never met a farmer (family included) who didn’t wake up and go to bed in some form of crisis - to wet, to dry, to hot, to cold, to much snow, to little snow, input prices, feed prices literally they all act miserable.

Imagine thinking that a trade war that was started unilaterally by the executive branch and has the ability to impact all Americans, not to mention the possibility of causing actual foreign conflicts isn't political. What could possibly be more political than that?

Economic issues are political issues

Particularly when they come unilaterally from the executive branch

You must be painfully stupid to not recognize this

You just don't want it talked about because the results aren't positive

In other words don’t talk about tariffs here any longer because reasons.

Tariffs are political and they have a financial impact. Sorry.

Sorry you hate democracy. The president has control of tariffs. The issue has been decided.

How the tariffs impact various groups financially, again, is a money issue.

Your reason isn't valid and is bordering on insanity

If you don't want to talk about tariffs you're more than welcome to exit the thread

I have no idea if this is true but I know that if it was true, there is no way some people would believe it because they have a form of TDS that can see no wrong in anything Trump does

The OP is a story about farmers losing money over tariffs. It’s clearly a money story that you are making political to try to make some point that OMB.

Protectionism is Increasing. Unfortunately for all of us who depend upon international trade for our living, including brokers, forwarders, NVO’s, protectionism is rampant and bipartisan. China bashing very apparent at the Republican and Democratic conventions. My take-away: The trade community needs to recognize the threat and mobilize to educate Congress and whomever the President will be.

Many trade organizations have warned of possible fallout from the port fee charges we're considering starting up. I try and keep these things in the back of my mind. So many voices are speaking up... But it's a highly politicized era that we're in and the status quo doesn't like being challenged.

Your comment "If prices drop too much, I will just skip a year" is exactly what Professor Shih said would happen in his talks with growers. He didn't get into specific commodities but he was speaking about the industry in general and Ag production is not something we want to screw with.

What’s causing them to lose money?

The underlying issue?

And there is the real truth. You don't like it because it portrays Trump in a negative light. It is certainly political and you're just trying to deny it to suppress discussion about it. Which is pretty cowardly if we're being honest.

You've got such thin skin that you don't want anything that might portray Trump in a negative light talked about here.

The real problem is that all of these farmers have been overproducing due to subsidies.
