As shitty as this is, it was almost assured Iran would luck out and smoke at least one jet.
Israeli pilots also aren't used to any air defense. They have a shite ton of experience, but little to none in contested airspace, even what little resistance Iran managed to throw into the sky.

It’s hard to say what that was but it seemed like a really small white spot for a parachute compared to the pilot beneath it. Even if the seat hadn’t separated it seems disproportionate.
