Israel May be About to Recognize Argentina's Control over the Falklands

The other day he told the UK government to go frick themselves and then referenced the Falklands and essentially said that so long as you can claim control over these islands 3,000 miles away from Britain we ain't listening to shite you say in regards to what we consider our own homeland.

Thanks. A friend of man is a Royal Marine who fought in the Falklands. He was impressed with how brave the Argentines were, but they were completely outmatched by the technology, equipment, and training of the Brits.

Pre-invasion someone asked a British official what they expected to encounter. He replied that it the Argentinians fought like the Spanish then they would die to the last man, but if they fought like the Italians then it would be over in 24 hours.

I don't see how that has all that much to do with what's happening here. Even if Israel is behind the push to move them out, Britain has been just letting them flood on through. Israel has a point here, imo. "If you're going to continue to claim territories thousands of miles away from your homeland, don't tell us what to do with what we consider our own homeland."
It will be interesting to see how this all shakes out. Alliances are being redrawn all over the place right now.

Well the difference is people native to the Falklands voted to be part of Britain.

No. There’s nothing to recognize. Argentina has never exercised any real degree of control over the islands, and has never populated them.

It's just a huge source of national pride for them. It may not be logical, but it's true.
True story...many years ago I was driving from Puerto Montt, Chile to San Carlos de Bariloche...almost a thousand miles from the Falklands. On a fairly remote, two lane mountain road in the Andes, I passed this sign. Apparently, they are all over Argentina.
By the way...it's an absolutely beautiful area. It's called the Switzerland of South America for good reason, wit the snow capped mountains and blue lakes. You can have a very comfortable holiday seeing spectacular scenery, staying in European quality B&Bs and hotels, and eating excellent steaks.
