frick Israel and the whole rest of the Middle East.

Everyone is hip to the Israeli game and tired of them using us as their henchmen and dragging us into their bullshite and getting our young men and women killed.

If they go nuclear, sure.

With conventional munitions? Not really.

They wouldn’t be able to do any meaningful damage.

I pray they wait a few weeks. My son is over there (Israel) for another month or so.

The Iranians are preoccupied with Syria, I would expect them to respond at a later date, and indirectly.

Perhaps by introducing weapons into Gaza or Yemen, or, more likely, by helping Hezbollah in some way.

You seem to have a better grasp on the situation than most others on the board. Do you think the Iranians have any other interest beyond maintaining sovereignty and giving support to Shia proxies in the Levant? I just don't see them acting aggressively, as they would surely be put down. More than happy to hear a more nuanced and informed view.

And not all that successfully either.

The sandal shod houthi have embarrassed them, repeatedly.

I guess that would depend on what you mean by meaningful, they certianly could inflict massive casulties and destroy a good bit of infastructure.

But you are correct that they could not do enough to force a surrender or defeat, however that goes the same both ways.

I think it's funny many in this thread don't know this big war in the ME is going to happen whether they want it or not. Buckle up cupcakes because it's coming.

I should have stated it, but I’m thinking of Iran’s missile and nuclear program.

Without a sustained air campaign they wouldn’t be able to inflict meaningful damage. The Iranians aren’t going to forget how to build a reactor, or how to make a missile, they would simply rebuild. And rebuild fairly quickly.

Hezbollah has 100,000 rockets in their arsenal, so while Iran can’t really hurt Israel, Hezbollah can. And the Israelis don’t have an answer. They can’t stop the rockets, and they can’t hope to overrun the launch sites. They can take some out by air attack, but not enough.

Hezbollah is redeploying to Lebanon, in part because they’re worried about the next war.

Samesies, they can inflict both casulties and destroy soft targets but no meaningful damage, just as you claimed about Israel and Iran.

Lets also be clear, lots of those 100,000 are little more than bottle rockets in the grand scheme of things.

No.

That’s a bad read.

Widespread and indiscriminate civilian casualties, the closure of Ben Gurion, these would compel Israel to invade Lebanon, again.

And that will go very poorly for the IDF. Hezbollah is more capable now, the IDF, largely the same.

That’s not a recipe for success. Especially if the Syrians get involved.

Everyone appears to be under the impression that Israel has nukes and your typical smart bombs. There are other options. Chemical, emp, commando, sabotage and who knows what else we here haven't thought of yet.

The IDF has an insanely good cyber warfare branch

they would be working over time to bring down everything in Iran.

Irrelevant. Doesn't matter if I go over and fight or not, this war will happen regardless of what you or I do. I just choose not to get worked up over the inevitable. I suspect we will be fighting in some capacity somewhere eventually.

Did you forget about Israel's attack on Iran's assets in Syria last month?
