This does smell some. If Iran wants to keep the deal with the US, wouldn’t this be the worst possible time to be planning an attack on Israel? Maybe with the deadline looming, and expectations of the US withdrawing from deal are in play, but damn, would you really risk a move that would be a dealbreaker, regardless of what else had happened?

None of those countries can hurt Iran.

The gulf nations don’t have real armies, their militaries are largely jobs programs, and expensive ways to curry favor in the west (by buying hardware.)

Just look at the mess that the Saudis have made in Yemen.

Jordan has small but effective army. But they have no way of projecting that power. And it’s highly unlikely that the king would support a campaign against Iran.

Israel, the only way Israel can hurt Iran is by launching nukes.

They don’t have the capacity to follow through on their threats to bomb Iran.

It would be just as stupid as using chemical weapons against combatants and civilians in a war that is practically won, only to draw international ire.

Israel wants to create a climate of fear that justifies their own interventions, and encourages us to intervene on their behalf.

JCPOA is probably part of this, they’re also ticked about the S-300 deliveries to Syria.

War propaganda meant to get us involved. If the Israeli's really believed this, don't you think they'd have done something other than a press release?

I think different....hes releasing the info pre strike to alert the world to focus on missile launch locations....now all eyes are on Syria

I guess so, but neither the stakes nor the consequences seem comparable to me. What’s a few bombs going off in a country engulfed in all out war? It’s not like the US is going to ease sanctions, increase trade, or financially support Assad regardless of what he does. Then you have the absolute assurance that much of the story will be that the US just wants to kill Syrians, do Israel’s bidding, etc.

So Israel is going to use a potential counterstrike to an attack they orchestrated against Iranian forces as a justification to further attack Iran. So many people will defend Israel's continued aggression, too.

Israel can do whatever it chooses but IMO, the U.S. has no good reason for being in Syria and needs to get out.

Likewise, the United States is under no obligation to provide materiel of any type to Israel excepting instances in which it furthers (soley) American interests and aims.

The frick if they don't. Iran just accused Israel of dropping a tactical nuke on their "secret" nuclear weapons plant in Syria last week.

That should be easy to corroborate.

Considering it was national news and registered 2.5 on the rictor scale I'm sure that's a safe bet.

Oh, it’s you again.

Iran made no such claim about nukes.

The Israelis did hit three Syrian weapons depots, one of which contained “strategic weapons.”

That probably means ballistic missiles.

And yes, Israel can continue to strike targets in Syria but they have zero ability to hit Iran.

They don’t have enough strike aircraft, tankers, or AWACS to support that kind of mission.

Is this another John Bolton production? It’s one of his wet dream scenarios.

Prominent among the Israeli purchases are an undisclosed number of KC-135 aerial refueling planes. Previously, the US refused to sell such planes to Israel. “The change of policy,” Israel’s Channel 2 reported on Friday night, constitutes “something of a hint over the understandings between the two nations regarding the possibility that Israel will seek (US assent) to strike at Iran

The aerial refuelling tests are aimed to allow the ‘Adir’ to be refuelled by Israeli tankers in every speed and height permitted by the aircraft's programme block.
