Not necessarily. But the Med is massive so it wouldn't be the worst thing for the Ford's relief being a day's sail away.
I'm not even sure if the Ike is going on Full Deployment or not. Sometimes they go out for a month or two at a time for tests and personnel qualifications in preparation for an upcoming full deployment. Full deployments have been trending towards nearly a full year or sometimes more.
F-18 squadrons have been pretty active flying in and out of NAS Oceana for the last few weeks. Also not very unusual leading up to deployments.
Just saw where the Ford only left a few months ago for it's first full deployment. With the Ike's deployment already being a scheduled one, I would assume it isn't to relieve the Ford and that she will stay close to Israel for a while.

As of yesterday. The Bataan is an amphibious assault ship with vertical take-off aircraft. I'd assume that includes F-35s.
The Reagan strike group will probably move into the Indian(my theory).

I spent considerable time on the Wasp (twice), Guam (twice), and Nassau. I’m very familiar with LHAs. Also did a short trip through the Indian on the San Bernardino (LST) back in the day. Good times.

I think the Wasp is in dry dock about a mile from me. I feel like it's been in dry dock since I moved to this area like 7 years ago.
