The debates can only hurt him. It would basically be him up there with 9 other candidates spending an hour teeing off on him. He knows it's completely loaded and charged, with the moderators just serving him up to these desperate candidates looking for anyway to gain ground.
He has absolutely no reason to debate these people because they're dramatically beneath him, pollwise and otherwise.
