Is this the most attention the east wing of the White House has ever gotten?

Seriously. Everyone knows the main building and the west wing. The east wing has long been an after thought. Yes the Christmas tours were there as well as the First Ladies offices and some other more leisurely events. Apparently it had a movie theater (which they are going to replace with another one).

This to me is clearly just “Donald Trump did X so we are going to freak out about it”. Insane to me how hard people are taking it as if we are destroying something irreplaceable.

My only complaint is the new ballroom does appear out of scale with the rest of the White House. I wouldn’t mind its size being toned down a bit so as to not overpower the main house. But Christ people. It’s by far the least cared about part of the building to the general public.

I have to think mentions of the east wing have increased 5000 fold if not more in the past week. If Donald Trump told everyone to drink water, liberals would drink bleach just to spite him id have to imagine.

In the history of our nation, has there ever been controversy defining a woman?

I'ver not seen a scale drawing of the complete layout - that photo someone posted is significantly distorted = like a close-up with a wide angle lens = makes everything in the background look small.

I'm not in love with the idea - but anything that drives the leftists to crank up their despair quotient is OK with me.

Certainly something needed to be done to not having to rely on tents on grass.

The most amazing thing about White House history is that in it's earliest years, anyone could walk in off the street and ask if they could see the President. Sometimes, they could.

The White House itself is not crazy big by today’s standards, also, it needs a bigger ballroom to entertain foreign guests without all the tents and rent a chairs everywhere. You need to have additional floors about the ballroom for the offices and such too.

You can’t even see it from the main road anyways, so not like it will really take away from the White House.

Certainly crazy how worked up people are and even worse at the BS AI pics out there that people believe, like it’s attached to the White House lol

We have a government shutdown.

We have our own troops not getting paid.

We have a war in Ukraine.

We have a delicate peace process in Gaza that we're trying to work out.

But this ballroom remains the most important issue in the entire world.

Would it surprise anyone if the next Dem president tore it down? Would the media even cover it?

Hunter could've built a meth lab in the east wing and nobody would've said a word.

This East Wing controversy is ridiculous.

The real outrage will come when Trump razes the West Wing to build a massive UFC ring for his hillbilly followers.

For a Canuck that hates when people make "generalizations" you sure spend a lot of time making them.
