Diesel production remains the same
not according to Forbes.

One of the reasons attributed was shuttering refineries.

That would be true in the Spring. The reason for concern is that the level should be much higher, since demand drops in October.

funny you should say that, and was thinking the same, I've noticed prices dropping lately so we're heading that direction

Over the last year, I keep my gas tanks full out of general principle. I also stock up on certain commodities. I no longer trust the stability of society.

You might be right that the shortage thing is wrong and over hyped. But the above comment suggesting the right lies more hand the left is asinine.

Well looks like I need to make room next to the baby formula stockpile and face masks. I don’t use any of these things but I damn sure won’t be found not being able to find them!

Our harvest is about over. Got some cover crops going in now.

Farmers should be ok. Trains and truckers are the ones we need to watch out for.

This is correct.

Unlike the SFR, which is being drawn down and not replenished, this is the inventory should all production of diesel stop at this moment (which is not happening).

Still, the inventory is well below the norm, which should be concerning.

And normal inventory is normal for a reason. Suppliers don't want to keep more inventory on hand than normal.

I do think we will be able to handle this blip however.

I've been waiting for the new design on a Ram 3500, but might have to go ahead with a 2023 order if prices start looking better.

Having 23 or 25 days of inventory doesn't mean anyone is running out.

Depends on how fast we're refining it in relation to demand. If we're only refining half of what we need on a daily basis, then we could eat up that 25 day inventory pretty quickly.

No, it’s not real. But the republicans and tucker want everyone to panic, go out and buy as much as they can, to create a man made shortage.

I'm looking at used 5.9's and that's where I'm seeing the prices soften a bit lately, but I'd expect your new prices to drop like a rock

It's an absolute farking lie. Having 23 or 25 days of inventory doesn't mean anyone is running out. Diesel is being produced every day. What it means is if not a single drop is produced, we have a 23 or whatever day supply. It DOES NOT MEAN that we are running out of diesel. People lie, especially right wingers. People who can't recognize the lie, again typically right wingers, are doomed to repeat it and look stupid for doing so.

You are correct we won’t run out

Instead prices will rise high enough that most can’t afford so there will still be available supply

What did Biden say the price of fuel was the day he took office?

I guess that refining production, stocks in tanks farms and export reports don't jive with forbes.

That being said, home heating oil which is nothing but offroad diesel with under 500PPM sulfur instead of ULSD may be the real issue due there won't be any Russian LNG for New England this year. There are no US flagged LNG carriers to transport from US to US ports. In the past all gas turbines in papermills in N.E. had dual fuel, diesel/natural gas burners

It's actually accurate due the amounts are supplied by the refining industry

Forbes is going off the EIA numbers, which are the official numbers the government goes off.

EIA has a rough history with crude production numbers, but refined and distillates are generally dead on

I just wish diesel weren't damn $5 a gallon. I did the math, and I won't save much going to a gas powered ride.
