That's not how I interpreted his point. Just that up North, they basically do the "subtle" racism, then pat themselves on the back by saying, "At least we're not as racist as the South..."

And I disagree with that. Most white people aren't overtly or subtly racist in the North or the South anymore. Note I said "most". Just more bullshite about how when we're not racist we're still racist.

The most racist person I ever knew well was from North Dakota, and her entire racism was focused on Native Americans.

Pointing out your stupid argument is not an insult.

I've lived in the south my entire life and can count on 1 hand the number of sporadic discussions i've had about the civil war. Lying is easily spotted with you.

The insecurity you all have about the issue shows you know it's true.

What insecurity? No one here is saying that there aren't racists in the South. The whole point is that racism is everywhere, it just isn't as rampant in the south as the media paints it, and it isn't as absent in the North either.

You are the only one trying to go to great lengths to paint the South as racist by referencing an event that happened 150+ years ago as your evidence. Grow up, junior.

Well if we want to paint an entire region based on actions from the past, why not paint the entire Democrat party with that same brush?

Not sure where you got the idea I was broad brushing. I was just pointing out one of the main reasons why the South is perceived as being more racist than other parts of the country. They're really not. Racism is present anywhere you see a large number of different races living close to each other. In the post-Civil War South though, racism was the driving force for almost every decision made. They put it on their front porch for the world to see, and they were proud of it.

Remind me who it was that brought up the Civil War in a thread about modern-day race relations?

You made the argument that the civil war is huge to "half" of southerners.

That's a libtarded notion and could be an indicator of a smaller brain. None of that is my fault.

Eta: I never called you a libtard.

not a shocking statement to make

You're right, I was wrong. Judging by the responses in this thread I as lowballing it. It's important to way more than half of all Southerners.

Now I'll call you libtard. You libtard.

You brought up the civil war you libtard. You can't even see your libtardedness because of your hate. Let it all out though. Hopefully its soothing. Holding on to all that hate has to be painful.
