The better question is how long before the Masters has to break tradition and let women start playing there? Or have they already?

Maybe they’ll come begging the true President for an opportunity to play the Masters at Mar-A-Lago

The only woke player on tour is Cameron Champ. GTFOH with that fake crap.

I mean one of the best golfers on tour called himself a fig on air. So woke

The Masters isn’t even a PGA sanctioned event

Why do folks keep saying this?

It's a PGA tour event and on their schedule every year.

The Masters has already said it will drop TV coverage in entirety

When did this happen?

They obviously did the broadcast w/out commercials but heard nothing about dropping coverage completely

They got more money than God and no one who is actually woke watches the Masters. Last year a bunch of journalists were saying that a minority needed to win or else the tournament...:........... OK, that is the dumbest shite I’ve ever heard especially since the previous winner, Tiger fricking Woods, is black and Asian and just the year before not only won the Masters but also had the greatest comeback in sports history that was celebrated by everyone who watched it. All 100 million people who were watching it live across the country screamed to the top of their lungs in triumph after seeing that. It might be the greatest moment in sports history... but yeah they’re racist if they don’t allow a black guy to win. Idiocy of the highest order.

Look for pressure on players by their corporate sponsors to not participate.

Okay.I get all those points but I've no heard them talk about pulling the broadcast and I highly doubt they would.

I can promise you any number of media entities (domestic or international) would pay out the nose for their rights despite the politics.

the Masters will tell them to pound sand just like they did when the advertisers pulled out in the 2000’s. Their response: frick you. We’re rich.

The Masters is the one sporting event I’m convinced if it goes woke it will go broke. Only the Kentucky Derby is even in the conversation for as beloved a sports event, and I think at this point The Masters blows that out of the water.

Sorry should have said "not heard" anyone pulling the broadcast.

I mean after the Super Bowl (which for all intents and purposes is a fricking whore in comparison) The Masters has to be the most watched sporting event each year (with the exception of the Olympics and World Cup when they’re played). It possible it’s less than the Kentucky Derby, but that’s it. They’re not getting cancelled unless they choose to be.

The sponsors didn’t pull out. Augusta National did a pre-emptive, “why don’t y’all just take the next year off, we will host the tournament without any sponsor help so that you won’t have to face any backlash.”

And yes, they have so much money they could turn down tens of millions of dollars in advertising.

I agree that the pressure , if there is any, will be put on the players to not show up .

That being said, Augusta National has black and women members. I don’t know why they would be attacked.

i would think the most effective pressure would be on any network that covers the Masters

take their TV, you take the tournament
