Is the mask mandate a law or not?

All you hear in airports is, wear the mask, it is federal law.

It's not law, anywhere.
Which is my governments are threatening businesses with revoking their licenses if they don't enforce it, because government knows they legally can't.

It's not law, it's more like a suggestion. At least that's how I've interpreted it. Businesses enforce it so they don't get nailed with fines or worse.

Speaking about Louisiana, though I suspect it is similar elsewhere, the mask mandate is not a law per se. However the law gives the governor certain powers in an emergency that have the “force of law.”
Pretty sure there is no federal mandate outside of federal buildings and property.

What if I tested negative for the virus, but had the antibodies to be immune because I have had it in the past on my last test?
What if I had already gotten both rounds of shots?
What if I simply didn't care about my OWN health and chose not to wear a mask, as a freedom loving American?
