2024 will be my first vote as a US citizen. The more I read about Desantis and his work in Florida, the more I am impressed. Just wondering if it is repeatable across the nation.

You mean common sense? Yes, thats extremely repeatable if you elect leaders that have some.

Perhaps in some places. Not in Louisiana though.

Louisiana is doomed and is never coming back/improving.

Florida isn’t “Florida” just because of Desantis.

The FL legislature is full MAGA.

What you see happening in FL is the result of the greatest conservative Governor in modern US history operating in space with the full support of a real conservative legislature backed by a booming economy.

Without his legislature, Desantis wouldn’t be “Desantis” and there wouldn’t be a path to real progress.

If you want that in your state, you have to work from the ground up: take back your school boards, your sheriffs, then your state reps and get active locally or you will continue to back slide.

The problem with many states is they have already been infiltrated by the filthy progressive left and supported by limitless funding from evil oligarchs....once a city turns dark blue, it is over for good!

My only complaint about Florida was the cost of living, sure there is not a state income tax, but they find every other way to get money out of you.

Nice. Congrats.

Do you plan to assimilate (while keeping your family heritage)? Seems like you speak good English. You appreciate DeSantis. Do you plan to live here permanently and only visiting India? Would you join the military should our country be attacked?

If all true, then welcome aboard.

The state has changed in the relatively short time I've been here.

For the better: much, much more conservative

For the worse: generally packed everywhere and unprepared for the population influx.

I hope so. I’d love to be on one of those fully paid flights to Martha’s Vineyard

I just moved to Port Saint Lucie less than a year ago. There are a lot of people here from the Northeast. Most of them are conservative as hate what's happening to the cities up North.

I think the red states are getting redder and the blue states are getting bluer because of the migration of conservatives to more conservative areas. It's a win/win for the people moving, because the cost of living in the blue cities is through the roof - they can sell a house in NYC and buy a nicer one for half the price (used to be a quarter of the price).

We need to work on the purple states - GA, CO, OH, MI, PA, etc, and see if we can turn them red...

Absolutely. It just requires someone with some balls and a modicum of resources. That's it.

Florida needs to protect it's northern and western borders!
As a 27th generation Floridian, I feel lately, too many have moved here from north of the Florida / Georgia line and from west of the Florida / Alabama line. They seem to forget why they moved, and attempt to change Florida into what they left. Makes no sense.
