I doan know....... I took chem e sugar house Lsu in 1967 and learned about cellulose from sugar cane, wrote a report on extracting partially eaten grass fiber from a cow stomach and mapped out the molecular structure. In 1997, I started up a polyethylene plant in Kuwait that filled a 50 lb bag every second, and the laboratory would verify all the carbons and hydrogens were in the right place. A cellulose molecule looks very similar to a polyethylene. UV exposure destroys both.

It's their excuse for having a micropenis

Yep, but this has nothing to do with plastic. It’s a human problem in trash disposal.

Just think about how many frogs we are turning into trannies each day we fail to get microplastics under control.

I gathered that, and I was being kind in my response. Suggesting cellulose and polyethylene have similar molecules suggests little knowledge of Ochem. Other than being linear (in the case of an HPDE not LPDE), they are not remotely similar. The monomers, linkage, and intermolecular forces are all significantly different. Even if they were similar in many respects small differences in molecules can result in hugely different characteristics.

Yeah, Republicans are definitely for more microplastics. Its why we have RFK and the MAHA people in the tent.

To me, it's not the plastic itself that I'm concerned about, it's the catalysis chemicals that are used to make it and that remine in the plastics.

Microplastics and PFAS. A bunch of bullshite. Just fear mongering by activist NGOs to drum up donations and activism so they remain relevant… to receive more donations. Both are issues I deal with in my work and having to counter all these whacko tree huggers and their BS. Just because something is “detectable” doesn’t mean it is at levels that are harmful. There’s all kinds of shite you would never think of that can be “detected” in your system… including other people’s pharmaceutical drugs in the water supply. The EPA has set the “harmful” level of some substances at thousands of times below what the human body naturally produces on its own.

Didn’t some teenager from India invent a vortex of sorts to demonstrate how it can efficiently clean up plastics in the ocean?
If true, another example that the left is incapable of proposing solutions. They only use the problem to control the masses who buy into it

We really don’t know shite about micro plastics and how they effect humans/animals.
Move over global warming. We got a new scare topic to grift off of!!

My point exactly. They have to keep it fresh to keep some people on this board worried about something. Just imagine how much of your life and health choices could be controlled or manipulated by a ban or restrictions on plastics.
