Is KS the next state to go Purple?

As many of you know, currently KS has a Democratic Socialist governor named Laura Kelly and a Democratic Socialist congressional member named Sharice Davids.
Kelly's term as governor is over in 2026 and the person she is endorsing is Democratic Socialist candidate Ethan Courson.
Here's a couple of political ads being run by Courson. Guess what his biggest concerns are?
Let's take a listen.

His concerns are abortion rights and standing up to Trump and ICE.
What fricking Red state would vote any governor into office who is pledging to stand up to ICE?
What fricking state? A Purple state.

When they tell you who they are you better believe them.

Getting our elections back on the level and eliminating "voting systems" instead of simply counting real, legal ballots cast by real, American citizens will go a long way to fixing this problem.

The Republican Party of Kansas is an absolute joke and has been for a while. There are several “red” states that aren’t conservative in the least but pretend to be: Utah, Georgia, Nebraska, Kansas, and Indiana just to name a few

Bruh, is she really a member of the DSA? Or did you read where she took the lead of the DGA and got mixed up?
But is Kansas turning purple? Maybe. Lots of farm subsidies there.

It really doesn’t matter. What have republicans accomplished? Nothing.
Trump is the only person holding back the tsunami that is coming. He has no one else who is willing to fight for 77.5 million people who voted for Trump’s administration.
Screw the republicans. Now we’re seeing stories about how the republican electorate is not very enthusiastic about the midterms. I wonder why?

How do you define "purple"
I would say they are already there.

I think it's very good when Democratic Socialists are no longer being deceptive and lying to gain political power.
Here's what concerns me. It's obvious leadership inside the DNC must have put out the word to run on protecting illegal immigrants, more abortion, more socialism/Marxism and of course, stopping Trump. The other thing that is even more troubling is how many Americans are warming up to this BS.

The Recucks in DC are largely responsible for the rise of Democratic Socialism, but that's not the point of the OP. The point is the Democratic Socialists no longer believe they have to lie or hide who they really are.

Overland Park, Mission, Shawnee and Olathe are all suburbs of KC on the KS side that are filled with dopey soccer moms who think Trump is the devil.
Eastern Wyandotte County (KCK) is all minorities and West Wyandotte is the same as the above paragraph.
The men in these areas are all wussy too (note: kU in Lowrents falls into this spectrum as well).
The point being that between these areas and the shitholes known as Wichita and Topeka- you shouldn’t be surprised KS is purple, as these are the population bases for that worthless state.

You may be correct. I was still thinking KS was more of a Red state because they have a majorly of republicans in the KS legislature and the state has voted R for the presidency for decades.
I think what really stunned me was when this Courson dude, who is endorsed by Governor Kelly is running political ads pledging to "stand up to ICE." I have to think some pollsters have told Kelly and Courson that standing up to ICE is winning political issue.

Probably. The KC suburbs on the KS side are all exploding in population and tend to be more left leaning.

Unfortunately it appears Georgia is now prone to being more Purple than Red.

This is one of the indicators, along with your two senators. So based on those things, they are a red state.
But an ultra lib governor is another indicator. So they are definitely veering purple.

Indiana and Nebraska are ok.
Add a lot of southern states to this too. Louisiana, MS, Arkansas, South Carolina. They’re socially conservative due to large evangelical population but fiscally they’re a disaster and love the federal tit as much as blue states
Posted on 7/27/26 at 11:35 am to Bass Tiger
Kansas is only red outside of Kansas City. Kansas City has enough population to control a lot than you add in the College towns and there’s enough population offset that blue people win.

No, I didn't know that.

No, Kansas Governor Laura Kelly is not a democratic socialist. She is a member of the mainstream Democratic Party and positions herself as a pragmatic, middle-of-the-road moderate.
