Because they’re shooting up in my area. Not fun. No lasting relief in sight, either.
No need to worry until prices reach joe biden levels.

2 years ago… “Biden did that!”
Now…. “prices in general are a nuanced and complex economic concept and the president has little control over them.”

They are almost there and when they do reach that level it will be a whole new playbook of mental gymnastics from MAGA on here to try and justify it.

That is not my contention. My contention is that Bidenflation effect on gas was due entirely to incompetence in the Potatobrain Administration.
In other words you know nothing about why gas prices were high during the Biden administration.

It is and gasoline is still so much cheaper than it was under Joey Biden's average gas price for his entire tenure. Ol' Joey even sold almost all of our inventory from the Strategic Reserve to help his policies that were killing consumers.
Is it true ol' Joey and Otto Pen are not able to raise any money at all for their POTUS library? I hear so many are also saying, "Not In My Town"!!

But we have to help Israel, pay more for gas and subsidize the poor Israeli Government....MIGA MIGA MIGA

In July 2022, the average U.S. gasoline price was approximately $4.56 per gallon (July) and $4.93 per gallon (June), representing the historical peak for that period.
right. Its TODAY..... . which people here have cherry picked as a snapshot in time and are trying to use for political points.
and yet....... when time of day provides you with an AVERAGE for the SAME MONTH during the Biden admin which shows that bidens per gallon was substantially higher you decided to whine and bitch about "cherry picking".
Genius...........

What is your understanding of the likely global impact of Iran and Israel trading nuclear strikes?
Its a fair question but let also compare that impact to what the impact could be if Iran uses its what left of its current conventional arsenal against gulf oil infrastructure. Also what military objectives must be met to keep Iran from obtaining a nuke?

your argument is for naught now the Powerman has weighed in.
see:
Iran has the ability to bring the global economy to its knees according to power. they just haven't started yet. but they are fully capable of doing so.
also, China now has IMMENSE LEVERAGE in the global oil market because they are "choosing" to draw down their reserves (that were deeply discounted by Iran) because its in their best interest to do so...... not because they can't get supplied by anyone.....
And once they draw down these reserves and have to buy on the open market and/or replenish these reserves that they can't get from Iran because Iran is busy bringing down the global economy....... it's the US who will truly suffer because OMB something something

Or........ some of us just think you're a clown for spiking the ball let alone spiking the ball when they are "almost there".
But to give you credit..... at least you're honest enough to admit we haven't even reached that point yet.

Are you suggesting they cant be supplied by anyone? There was a drop of global oil demand b/c of the price hike, Then a drop in price followed.

okay to complain about gas prices here?
Only can complain about Biden's gas prices....even though Biden had much much much less to do with rocketing gas prices than Trump. Trump is directly responsible.

Sure. Let's compare.
Here's what Chat GPT said in bullet points:
quote:
Overall assessment
Immediate deaths: Hundreds of thousands to millions
Global GDP: Significant decline; severe recession likely
Oil prices: Sharp spike, potentially above $150/barrel
Stock markets: Major global sell-off; in US it could cause a 25% plummet
Middle East: Widespread instability and humanitarian crisis
Nuclear proliferation: Increased incentive for more states to seek nuclear weapons
Environment: Severe regional contamination; possible multi-year global climate and agricultural effects depending on the scale of the exchange. Ionization and limited nuclear winter could even affect US food production
Long-term geopolitics: Fundamental shift in international security and deterrence
Even a limited nuclear exchange between Israel and Iran would almost certainly become a global crisis, with consequences extending far beyond the Middle East through energy markets, trade, food security, finance, and international politics.
This is actually a little tamer than what I have read in various articles.
You think the conventional scenario would be worse than that?
quote:
Also what military objectives must be met to keep Iran from obtaining a nuke?
If the above is accurate—and to be fair, nobody really knows whether it gets it about right, if that's too severe a prediction, or if it would be even worse than that—I would say it behooves us to do whatever is necessary.
It depends on how fast Iran can rebuild its nuclear facilities, honestly. I'd rather just bomb the hell out of them every 5 or 6 years than send troops in.
