The documents in the office, at least, were found in November right at the mid terms.
If the dems would’ve kept the House, most likely, we would’ve never heard about this.

Midterms are over so it’s time to create an exit for Biden. He won’t hold up another 4 years so they need to plant the next presidential candidate in the right spot so they can rig the next election.

No. Better to deploy a cleanup team comprised of lawyers with privilege baked in BEFORE the House convenes investigations than to destroy evidence after the fact.

I was thinking he was strongly considering but didn't make it official.
But to OP question, no this isn't a coincidence. They want to get him out of the way in case the Congress puts heat on DOJ about FBI/Hunter's laptop and implications for the Big Guy. This can't be hanging over the DOJ or Bidens head during an election year.
So they get Biden out of the way because of the documents, then they can put whoever they want up for prez. Plus you can tarnish Trumps run as the Dems claimed that Trump did the same thing as Biden.

The timing couldn’t be better if you wanted to replace him and the VP would still be able to run for 2 terms.
