We may dislike Obama and his policies, but he was able to pass more major legislation and pass more bills in his first two years.
ACA was major legislation, I will give you that.
I honestly don't think he passes anything else that can be considered 'major.' He was pretty much done with Congress after that.

What is something you feel strongly about for which you are willing to meet the “other side” on half way?

George Washington prophesied that political parties would destroy the country.

That is a joke. Our country depends on bipartisanship to function.

Last time in the last 60 years we had a balanced budget was with a Republican Congress and Democrat President.
And a completely new BOOMING tech industry that brought in hundreds of billions.

The fact that neither side is willing to give up anything for the good of the whole is the problem.
Here's how I see it...
Our politicians are driven by public opinion and polls for the most part.
People in our country is at the point where we only see in stereotypes. We're all stupid to a point.
Whites are evil and rich, all blacks are lazy, Mexicans spit out 20 kids, Muslims are here to bomb us and breed us out.
Makes for a highly divided country.

Well, considering the Left have almost to a manbecome absolutely, batzhit crazy and violent, well forgive us if we aren't in a compromising mood.
The fact that you think this is true is evidence that you are probably batshit crazy yourself. And if you've spent any length of time in that certifiably insane Q thread and thought to yourself, "Wow, this is some really solid stuff here!", well, pot, meet kettle.

No, you're probably a rational thinker.

have been told multiple times on this board that moderates are spineless people who believe in nothing and cause damage to our society by failing to take a stand.
Can you link me to a post that says this?
You're a dope. That routinely gets posted on here. Go do your own search. It won't be hard to find.

A few Major Legislation by Obama
ACA
Lilly Ledbetter
Dodd-Frank
American Recovery and Investment Act
The repeal of Don’t ask Don’t Tell
Passed the extension of Bush tax cuts
We may not like the bills, but they were passed and considered major legislation.
Congress barely passed the tax cuts for Trump in 17. Then they sit on there hands the next 14 months. It’s not Trumps fault the GOP Congress couldn’t get shite passed. Obama was lucky his Democratic congress passed what he wanted. Lilly Ledbetter was signed after 9 days in office.
It is amazing how bad Congress was the last 2 years. How the Democrats didn’t win more house seats and pickup a Senate seat is amazing as well.

Moderates are incredibly ignorant. Studies on policy knowledge show liberals and conservatives fairly equal. Self described moderates score much much lower.
The conclusion is that moderates are too stupid to identify with a philosophy so they just pick and choose issues willy nilly.
Now, you have said you are a moderate. So, I'm not saying you are a moron. That would be rude.

Explain how somewhat meaningless policy knowledge correlates to intelligence.

Truly ideological bipartisanship would likely be ok. Two opponents having to figure out a balance that works.
This. When I think of 'bipartisanship' I imagine thoughtful, policy-driven legislation where two ideologically different parties come together and create policies that benefits everyone based on common ground. Work together on what you agree on, like infrastructure, etc.
Set aside other issues until you have accomplished what you can together, then start the wrangling and compromising.
Once upon a time, things could still get done in Congress even when there was a contentious issue moving through at the same time.
Now, in the era of perpetual reelection campaigning, the only 'bipartisan' issues are show votes for meaningless resolutions.

If you believe that policy knowledge is meaningless then you really should never vote. Never vote at all. Because voting = policy decisions.
Now, I'm not saying you are retarded. That would be rude.

With the current state of the Democrat Party bipartisanship is absolutely bad for the country. They hate the America that we know. You do not compromise with an enemy whose goal is your destruction.

I can't remember a bipartisan America. It would be nice to experience it to answer diligently.

If bipartisanship means having any association with liberals at all I am firmly against it. They are a bunch of creepy worthless fricks and I have no wish or intention of having anything to do with them.
Something is going to give if both sides get hardened in that attitude. And it's not going to be good.
