Doesn't matter if it's a POTUS election with turnout. Landrieu was re-elected in 2008 when Louisiana went for McCain. The JBE "Souls to the Polls" machine can be used for Senate next year when they roll out their "Blue Dog" Democratic candidate.

No, unless JBE runs. No other Dems in the state have a shot

I understand most Reps being under the radar because there are 435 of them. But with only 100 senators and two per state, they should be more high profile, especially as a statewide elected official. Cassidy is technically the senior senator, but I can't name you shite that he's done or led the charge in. I can ramble about Kennedy for a good bit though.

Cassidy seems like a boring senator and a follower, he won't be leading any good committees like the judiciary or finance committee anytime soon.

Cassidy is going to win big. His margins will tail Trumps.

Kennedy blew him out of the water at the recent Trump rally’s. He was a rock star going around shaking everyone’s hand

This.

They only have one John Bel Edwards. He's not giving up the Governor's mansion to let a republican replace him even over the prospect of flipping a republican seat in the senate. His owners won't let him do that.

Louisiana democrats have no credible challenger and we're less than a year out.

Cassidy is safe.

Dear god in heaven I just salivated at this.

He's the democrats Vitter. He would lose by a bigger margin than Clinton lost to Trump in Louisiana.

He will never be competitive statewide after the take down the statues bullshite. Especially in a federal senate race where the stakes are not as high for local politics.

We can bet on it, having 1 week to bus college and eligible high school students garners a significant number of urban votes that the dems will exploit.

Hope the GOP recognizes this, but somehow think they don't know what went on this election and will not prepare for the next one.

I’m very disappointed in Cassidy.
This state has not had an effective advocate in some time and he has not taken the job.

I hope he gets a viable challenger from either side

When Trump has 1,200,000 votes and the Democrat has 750,000 there's no way in hell Cassidy will lose.

He's a cheese ball and sucks but there's not Democrat who can overcome Trump being on the ballot.

Do you guys not realize what terrible candidates the GOP has run for Gov in the last 2 elections? When you couple that with Jindal being a horrible governor... there’s no doubt why JBE won twice.

Eddie Rispone’s TV commercials were bad, then he couldn’t string 2 sentences together when he was in pressure situations.

The state GOP needs to get its shite together before the primary next time. We need a well spoken, highly intelligent candidate with no stupid shite going on... no wacko bible thumper positions, no dead hookers...

amen brother
I am so tired of and turned off by lowest common denominator politics. Both sides pandering to their idiots and nothing ever getting done despite the smart people willing to try

You are only showing how much you have ZERO understanding of Louisiana and its voters.

Cassidy wins big

This was the most satisfying lever I’ve ever pulled, knowing Landrieu was getting the boot. He’s been ok, showed a spine during all the kavanaugh BS.
