Why should you raise salaries of people that are in oversupply? How many graduate per year from our fine universities with primary and secondary education degrees? I will give you a hint, way too many!

I could agree that it’s heartless but everybody is going to get pissed when you cut funding to anything. There are a lot of other things she could have cut before that (and there was) but it’s an easy target.

That, and government subsidies and loan policies. Harvard has a 40 BILLION dollar investment portfolio. If they, and other schools are soooo dedicated to educating young people, why don't THEY use some of that money to fund students with potential?

I disagree...actually, I agree on an emotional level...those poor kids, and stuff, but Special Olympics make over 100 million dollars a year from private donations. Make a case, based, not on feelings, but actual reality, for WHY an organization that makes 100 million dollars a year, needs any taxpayer money to...what?..get by??

It's budget was cut because it's privately viable, it doesn't mean it isn't on the spend sheet for less, and they can always bump it if it goes insolvent...
