The local councils in the Loyalist-controlled areas of Belfast have repeatedly refused to fund housing for any migrants. Hence, places like the Shankill Road area of Belfast have been virtually untouched by mass immigration. It's a 99% White British or Irish population.

But the Irish ARE a people who will lie down and take it. As I posted in another thread just a few minutes ago, Ireland remained neutral during WW II and would not stand against Nazi Germany. The allies had to save their butt.

But not because they just laid down. Hatred of the British has always been a central tenet of Irish politics.
