So you "full throat" argue for Israel's "right to defend themselves".
How many bombs do you think Israel would be dropping right now (and the last 11 months) without the US providing them bombs?
Irrelevant. That's like saying we need to control guns because too many people are being killed from gunfire, completely ignoring defensive use. In other words, their having of arms (regardless of who supplied them) isn't why they are using them, they are using them because they were attacked for the umpteenth time over decades and decades of trying to make a "Palestinian" land work.
Recognizing that does not mean I think they are angels, but it does mean I think they have been pushed to aggression by both Hezbollah and Hamas (acting as proxies for Iran) attacking them for years on end.

If that's what you believe, seems like that would be the point you'd be arguing.
It is and always has been, not sure what makes you think otherwise.
quote:
Without our bomb$, Israel wouldn't be lobbing them into Lebanon. They would actually care about "defending themselves" and their citizens.
They have focused on defending themselves and their citizens for decades. They took their eye off that ball for a brief instant and over a thousand of their civilians were senselessly slaughtered. This was the final straw on the back of a camel which had already been overweighted with straw for a very, very long time. That breaking turned from defending themselves and their citizens to defending themselves and their citizens by going HAM.
Don't like it? Blame Hezbollah and Hamas for attacking Israel, or better yet blame Iran for funding and directing those attacks.
quote:
The leadership of Hamas and Israel have the same goal: To stay in power. This requires continued war. (to the detriment of their citizens)
Disagreed. Almost every single ceasefire has been broken by Hamas or Hezbollah firing weapons into or at Israel, not the other way around. This is because the goal of Israel is simply to be a homeland for Jews, the goal of Hamas and Hezbollah (as pushed by their masters in Iran) is to completely wipe Israel from the map. They chant "from the river to the sea" for a reason.
quote:
And the US is helping both by supporting it. (to the detriment of their citizens)
That's a point we can both agree on. See also: Syria.

Have you wondered why the great and strong IDF couldn't defend their population against lil ole Hamas? Why exactly did the IDF abandon their areas of defense and prioritize other areas, when supposedly their sources (including US intelligence) warned them of Oct 7 attack?
You're speculating. The fact is that they were attacked by a group who was funded by Iran. If you don't want / can't handle war, don't attack or fund and encourage someone else to do your dirty work.
That said, I really believe that the regime behind all of this and that wants war is the US. Specifically most democrats along with some republicans. Why else release billions to Iran who is a known terror sponsor and threatens to wipe out Israel? I don't think it's a coincidence that we're throwing billions in cash and weapons into Ukraine to keep that war going while making sure Iran has enough cash to do what they feel like they were born to do. I think they are hoping that an escalating Israel/palestine conflict in the middle east on top of Russia vs the US & Ukraine will be enough to kick off WW3. That's why they are not as quiet about all the aid and weapons as countries normally are during proxy wars. They are openly poking russia.

I appreciate your response. You're right, I am speculating. Growing up Christian and Republican and white, I spent my entire adult life believing that Israelies were the good guys, and all Arabs and Muslims were obviously the bad guys. Last October I got curious and started researching the issue.
There's plenty of blame to go around, Great Britain being the gas on the fire in the 1920's, perhaps bears the most blame, by promising this land to three parties, the French, The Jews (Zionsist) and the Arabs. And then by backing the Zionist when it came down to it. So the 6% of the population, with Britain's backing began taking the land from the Arabs, knowing that the fight would never end. Well, it hasn't ended. And I'd rather not have my tax dollars support either side.
I somewhat agree on your WWIII theory, but I don't think I would a fix blame to the D's or R's. I think it's their puppeteers, who run this entire country. Some call it the Deep State, some The Machine. Whoever it is, is our enemy. And those folks love funneling money to themselves via our tax dollars via "Defense Dollars".
Just my theory.
I wish you the best.

I think you might want to evaluate where you're getting your news, and evaluate their agenda.
Enjoy your weekend.

In other words, "Israel blew my balls off with my pager...I cry uncle"
Amazing that Israel will have won this war with pagers.
