re: Iran has hypersonic missiles

More google-fu. Looks like the technical definition of hypersonic is anything above Mach 5. But it looks like the “hypersonic” missiles everyone brags about are like Mach 9 or so.
I did see an article that a Patriot missile system did shoot down a zircon hypersonic missile.

Why did they not give them to Ukraine to strike Crimea? Russia is using hypersonics in Ukraine.

Wrong on both counts.
Got a link, or anything to back that up.
"Officially" the US says it does not.

That's a regular ballistic missile. All of which are 'hypersonic'

We have had them since the 50s or 60s as we achieved Mach 5 back then. The problem with them is they are not very maneuverable as plasma builds up and when you try to change course it falls apart. I'm sure we figured something out by now

The Iron Dome? Failed due the shear amount of missiles?

Officially, Israel doesn't have nukes, but they have nukes.

Thats because they need another half trillion to develop one.
Id love to ask the chiefs a question.....
So in the last 20 years we have spent trillions, trillions on the military, and some piss arse gas station of a country comes up with a super duper fragilistic missile.....and its gonna take you years to develop.
You are either the biggest dumbarses in the world.....or you have been thiefing trillions, which is it?

Reminds me of a conversation I had with a friend of mine in the CIA. I said I wish we were close to our govt having the capabilities of quantum computing.
He looked at me and said "what makes you think we arent far closer than anyone else?"

Interesting video. Did Russia give Iran Hypersonic missiles?
1. Hypersonic only allows the missile to travel at supersonic speeds in transit. It has to slow down before it hits its target.
Whether this was a hypersonic missile or not, you can’t tell from this video.
2. Yes they likely have hypersonic missiles. North Korea has hypersonic missiles. ICBMs travel around 15,000 in low earth orbit and then re-enter the atmosphere over target, where they are forced to slow down due to atmospheric friction.

Anyone afraid of hypersonic missiles does not understand physics. The faster something goes the slower it can turn or deviate which makes it easier for them to get intercepted. Fast is not always best in this scenario.

Don't believe anything the government says but needs government confirmation we have hypersonic missles. Believes Russia tells the truth when they say they have unstoppable hypersonics even though ukranians have shot down these missles with technology that shouldn't be able to stop hypersonics.
Hypersonic missles is sort of a ambiguous term to begin with.

I have no idea if that's a hyper sonic missile.
How could a human eye tell the difference??
I really don't know.
IF Iran has hyper sonic missiles, it won't matter.
Iran doesn't have anything Israel doesn't have.
The biggest factor that Iran can't match Israel is Intelligence(big "I" and little "i").
I haven't seen this discussed much, but Israel has the best combat air force pilots in the world, who fly the best fighter jets in the world.
Iran can lob missiles on Israel but do not possess the precision weapons Israel has

I didn’t see it cause much damage.

There is a Reaper that clears the hypersonic test range in the Pacific. It is operated by a contractor. That’s all I’ll say. I cannot provide any link. Believe me or don’t. Doesn’t matter.

Lots of ballistic missiles go hypersonic, it's not something new. Every ICBM for the last 70 years is hypersonic. Also, if that missile actually was traveling hypersonic you wouldnt have been able to see it from that close, would have just been an explosion

Appreciate your work.
However, 09/07/2023? As someone mentioned earlier, our military is 15-20 years ahead of what we know.
Work started in the 70's on F-117 and was not made public till 1987.
We have shite that would probably blow our minds. And that is cool cause we may need it really soon.

It really is. The US defines a hypersonic missile as one that can maneuver at hypersonic speeds. I seriously doubt Russia or China have missiles that can maneuver at hypersonic speeds.
