There's not mention of it being Iran at this point. In fact the vessels were hit from international waters and not from the Iranian side:

Iran has diesel electric submarines which can easily track an oil tanker, and obviously carry torpedoes and limpet mines.

Great. That's just what I wanted. Higher gas prices.

I guess we'll see if John Bolton and the president are weak if we can pin point who made the attack. My feeling is you soon find out one way or another.

John Bolton knew it was Iran before it even happened

Exactly, Iran gains nothing from such a move.

My favorite from the Breitbart comments section:

Plausible deniability is Iran’s MO. They threatened to close Hormuz over sanctions. These bombings are steps in that direction - wreak havoc on the shipping to disrupt the industry.

That makes more sense than Saudi doing it to bump prices. And actually works against that outcome if shipping and insurance costs go up. Saudi gets none of that.

It wasn't a torpedo and limpet mines can be carried by nearly everything in the water. As for subs, there are a ton of countries that have them, not that it would require a military sub to plant a mine.

One Master reported being hit by a torpedo, the other Master thought it was a mine.

I doubt there are many WW2 era magnetic submersibles still floating around, much less 2 within 10nm of each other.

A torpedo from a sub would be way to obvious and easy to detect in those waters. And yes, there aren't any leftover mines in that shipping channel.

This was a simple mine or bomb that was attached by a diver or someone on the ship.

Guess you haven't been around long enough to know who Ghazi is, and how he loves Iran and says they will destroy America in any war.
