I’d bet after the first tanker bombings we focused our military intelligence on the area - and we’ll probably have a pretty good idea whose responsible within the next 48 hrs.

This. Though most any way you cut it, it'll fall back in Iran's lap. Iran looks at it like if they can't sell their oil due to Sanctions...then they'll crash the oil market for all oil-dependent Nations. That would pressure the US to suspend Sanctions.

Of course, Iran will try to deny any attack, and even obfuscate by pointing to the Japanse PM's presence in Iran and the absurdity of attack on a shipment destined for Japan. They are cunning, but it won't fly with Trump. They best figure out a way to cut up those nukes/IBMs and cook em'.

Maybe no one thinks you are worth the time to reply to.

ETA: you do realize this is a thread that states Iran did the attacks as if it were a fact, right?

It’s a shame Iran sees weakness coming from DRUMPF and is emboldened enough to make such a brazen move!

I wish we had a President the world respected!

(This is fun; I see why you guys did this all the time with HUSSEIN.)

There's not mention of it being Iran at this point. In fact the vessels were hit from international waters and not from the Iranian side:

#Oil Market has reacted to the news.

Minimally...markets don't appear to react that dramatically anymore to regional conflict...maybe priced in already? Bottom line prices still blow and only deepen the capital destruction in US shale.

There's always at least 1 CBG in the region, either in the Gulf or the Arabian Sea , plus a MEU, usually off Oman or East Africa.

They're certainly heading there now. The last time this happened, Iran lost some oil platforms and at least one passenger airliner.

Iran has nothing to gain by pulling this shite. They are crazy.

this is the reason Trump tried to sell the Saudis all those weapons. But since the cucks in Congress blocked it we'll get dragged into it.

Yeah, because the Saudis have really shown a willingness to step up and protect both their own and American interests with Saudi lives.

Thank God we are near being oil independent. Thank God for Trump.
I believe we now export more than we import. Depends on the grade.

The EIA/DOE disagrees with you.

Forbes: American Energy Independence Is Imminent

quote:

The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) recently published their 2019 Annual Energy Outlook. Whenever your optimism on the prospects for U.S. energy infrastructure waivers, this will restore your confidence. The outlook for domestic energy production is bullish, and in many cases more so than a year ago.

For example, in their 2018 report, the EIA’s Reference Case projected that the U.S. would eventually become a net energy exporter. Now, thanks to stronger crude and liquids production, they expect that milestone to be reached next year.

CNBC: Surging oil output will push US towards energy independence in 2020, Dept of Energy says

quote:

U.S. oil production, already at an all-time high this year, will increase by another 2 million barrels per day by 2020, the agency’s statistics bureau projects. The same year, the nation will start exporting more crude oil and fuel than it imports, the Energy Information Administration said in in its latest forecast.
