I'm watching German TV on Link.
BTW, German, French and UK news are all hard left wing. But Japan news is pretty darned centrist.
So, the topic the official implementation of Trump's withdrawal from the Paris Accord that happened this month.
Issue: What if a Dem wins for President in 2020. Apparently 4 Dem candidates are campaigning on rejoining if elected.
The UN guy interviewed did a Not So Fast, My Friend.
'It won't be easy for the US to return to the Accord. The World Community will not trust their sincerity.'
I gives me the sads that the world doesn't like us.

I guess we’ll go on being cleaner than them without paying the bill.

So why if they don't like us is almost everyone wanting to come here?

frick that crap. We are one of the cleanest running countries on carbon. Unless those tards want to get serious and go after China, Russia and India who are the real offenders, they can go pound sand. Plus we get to keep the capital.

We’ll keep beating their effort and they can stay mad.
Maybe they will pay for their own defense.
We and the world seem to be tired of us being world police.

But they will sure as hell take us back in to get our money if they need it.

no kidding
All that "don't trust our sincerity" bullshite flies out the window when they can go back to trusting our money.

So I guess we should just put some empty words on a piece of paper and send it in like the rest of the world did to make ourselves feel better. The climate accords were one of the most pompous self-righteous acts I’ve ever seen, a bunch of people got on stage to congratulate each other for doing absolutely nothing.

The World Community has principles. You make them sound like prostitutes.

Could be worse. Could have won a peace award for just getting elected.

The US under a Dem POTUS would walk back into that room with the biggest wallet in the world, and the UN would stick both hands out palms up for the cash.
The US, with all the leverage in the relationship, would just fork over the cash and act like a servant.
I know this because I’ve seen it before.

Didn't Brock Obama try and commit $1T over 8-10 years to this effort? The "community" would gladly take that kind of dough from us.

The US has not had the biggest wallet in the world for many decades. It does however have the biggest line of credit which the nations who do actually have the biggest wallet are more than eager to exploit
America’s wealth was built on manufacturing might and technological innovation. We are now only a pale echo of that, living on credit
the world no longer requires American authority, only its consumer market
