Interesting Conversation About Conservative Values at Fall Festival

Had a discussion with some young college students and recent graduates about politics and our party. They say Marriage isn’t important to them as most of our leaders have been divorced multiple times and have multiple kids out of wedlock with as they call “side pieces”. They don’t believe in going to Church because the Pastor is involved in affairs and the people donating to him are living check to check while he has multiple cars, houses, and jets. They also don’t see a big deal in Tattoos as it’s what’s inside the heart that matters. Unions are a big deal to them as they don’t trust companies and want protections like the Police Unions, UPS, and Teachers. We need to reach these kids and unite our division or we’re screwed.

Their future is going to be unnecessarily hard.

Divorce rates are insane. A big reason this country is failing morally. Kids being raised by single parents is not ideal and in some cases really hurt the child emotionally.

In their defense, nothing you wrote was inaccurate. I can understand why they think that.

Unless they get busy making babies the culture is doomed to die out.

We’re already screwed. We have lost this nation and it’s because we sat back and did nothing. Conservative kids today are pussies just like the democrats! All young people today think life is about being happy all the time at all cost and that will not work!

i blame social media where they see nothing but happiness and glamourous life styles.
the last couple generations in this country have had it so good that we dont know what its like to do without things that we "want"

It's not bad enough yet.

It never works when your morality is based upon what you observe other people doing

The problem is that the liberals won the war on education while we didn't even know it was being waged. The only way to thwart this is to move liberals out of education by getting rid of the "education" college curriculum altogether (meaning upper education teachers are to teach courses they have specific degrees in, not be catch-alls) as well as to stop trying to think of teachers as being stand-in parents (ie: stop putting all the blame for poor-performing students on teachers but on parents who aren't spending quality time with their kids).
I think we (as a society/culture) have long passed the point of no return for a large swath of the kids who go to public schools, especially in your large population centers.

Sounds like a perfect teaching moment on multiple fronts.

Sounds like you go to a shitty church. My kids' peers at their school are overwhelmingly conservative.

I honestly have no problem with any of that. In fact, those issues with young kids are the least of my worries about that generation. That generation has much bigger issues that these examples you explained

It appears from the conversation you had with some young college students the cultural Marxist indoctrination at US universities is working as planned.

Following examples set by elders. Yet this is all true.

Personal thing that will vary. Church has had a black eye for awhile. Mix in the politics in the past few years, whether church politics or national, and it will make you sick.

Fair. A tattoo covering one's face is a bit different than a rose on a wrist.

Well we are screwed

What got me is that that they didn’t see a problem with being “Woke” and that being awake isn’t a bad thing. One kid even said “I know bullshite” when I see it.

Today youth are narcissistic. All that mumbo-jumbo is rationalization.

Divorce is really harmful to the kids. Kids are emotionally dramatized initially and then invariably one or both of the parents try to blame the other or pit the kids against one parent by talking about the other's failings. When the kids are not in a position emotionally to handle "adult" things like this. Let these discussions of fault occur when they mature in life.
This creates so much anxiety in the kids as they are bounced from parent to parent.

Divorce issue is a big one. They see parents as not being committted to each other and working on things. It is a "now" society that is narcissistic and doesn't understand give and take in relationships. They see parents not considering their kids when making a decision on divorce.
As far as church, this is an excuse and they obviously haven't had an experience with Christ. Also they see some big name pastors with all this wealth and think they all pastors are aspiring to that wealth recognition. They see pastors fall into sin and think they are all this way. But the church isn't about the pastor, he is a fallible person as well, it is the community and church itself that is why you should be there.
