I never had the misfortune of visiting the board, but the writing on the wall about UNC and RTP in general was clear when I flew in to give a brief to Salesforce or someone and saw ads en Espanol on the interstate advertising how to get a driver's license in 2005-ish. Pretty similar to Boston at the time.
While there are plenty of things that are f@*ked up about parliamentary systems, I believe that if we were close to having a legislature that savaged each other like the Brits and Canadians can, there might be less useless fighting amongst the hoi polloi (I don't really, but I wish it were true). They almost always F things up, but at least they can get newsworthy insults put into the public record. But, also the same system and populace that put ads on buses that drinking milk is stealing nutrition from calves (seen in Leeds and London.) Ugh.
Politics (as I post in an anonymous board) is best discussed between people in friend groups, neighborhoods, and places where you can shamed for being a dick. Politics in a pub with a couple of other folks from a different country, great. Otherwise, it's like everyone is a c*nt on NextDoor.

We all owe chicken a debt of gratitude for not moderating this board much. IC’s first mistake was having moderators at all.
I’ve been on political message boards nearly 30 years now and for a large traffic site, the PB is the closest you can get to the old wild-west environment of the dial-up era. I imagine being a mod on site like this is a thankless task.
That is why I try to never make too much of a stink about deleted or anchored threads. I think an “ignore poster” option would help grease the skids on this site and add to the overall enjoyment of all.

My oldest daughter is a tarholio and that place ruined her.
I’m always curious about posts like this. If you don’t mind me asking, what was her major?
My curiosity lies in the fact that a parent blames a school for how his daughter turned out. A parent's influence should determine how his daughter turned out.

IC is easily the most visited UNC sports website.

They did the same on Saints Report a few years ago. Andrus finally grew a set and pushed the political board to another site…
That site lost a lot of long term members because the libtards took over.

I attempted to participate in the Democratic Underground and lasted two posts before being banned. Good luck with that.

Yea, plenty of conservatives come out of even the most liberal schools.
Give your kids the right upbringing and mindset and they will be fine.

The ZZL was always a decent board but the politics sub forum was as deranged as Reddit and DU.
The white guilt is strong in Tarheel Nation sadly.
