Shocking that cutting rates when according to the Feds own metrics/prior comments it was still premature, is going to be inflationary.
The .5 cut was foolish, and I believe time will prove that, but blaming September's CPI failure on the rate cuts which didn't happen til mid-month makes no sense.

If you properly account (discount) for the roaring government spending that is disproportionately propping up the GDP are we ready to admit stagflation is here?
We would be in a serious recession if it weren't for ongoing consumer and federal debt creation. The problem is that basic math says you can't deficit spend yourself into prosperity. The longer we see consumers and the federal government doing this in increasing amounts, the worse it's going to be when that debt bubble pops.

You and I don't agree on a lot but we agree here. Rates need to hold steady for a while. We aren't in the clear at all yet. The soft landing is bullshite.
The people clamoring for lower rates are the same people complaining that housing is too expensive. They don’t see that ZIRP for an extended time created a lot of the mess we’re dealing with now.

no you didn't. you said I agreed with the other poster's comments by saying "bingo"
"it was still premature" - I agree
"If you properly account (discount) for the roaring government spending that is disproportionately propping up the GDP are we ready to admit stagflation is here?" - I agree
The “soft landing” looks to have been in a pit of quicksand. - I agree
didn't see any of that in the headline
clarification: you insinuated I believed the headline because I said "bingo" to the comments

Yeah, overall prices are up much higher than that.

I agreed with the comments, you falsely extrapolated.
I don't agree with the headline that inflation is up 2.4% over last year, I think it's higher.
And "more than expected" - happens all the time so I don't believe the "experts" who constantly get it wrong.
