Prices up, wages down.

The consumer price index rose at a seasonally adjusted 0.6% for the month, putting the one-year pace at 3.8%, the highest since May 2023. Excluding food and energy, the core CPI increased 0.4% and 2.8%, respectively, keeping inflation well above the Federal Reserve's 2% goal. Though energy and in particular gasoline has been much of the headline story, inflation pressures also came from a variety of other areas. The report also contained bad news for workers, as real average hourly wages slipped 0.5% for the month and fell 0.3% annually.

Nice picture of a doctor with his prescription for the economy.

Likely a short term bump. Inflation was only 2.3% when I looked it up a couple months ago. This leads me to believe it’s tied to the oil market affected by the conflict in Iran and will likely subside after the conflict along with oil prices.

Lets be intellectually honest at least... inflation for the past year has been at or below the 2% mark.
This is typical Trump and self inflicted. He should just admit the Iran bullshite was a mistake and do everything possible to course correct.

Obviously this is a problem. Trump lost focus on what got him elected.. what most of us voted for … if he doesn’t refocus on domestic economic issues then losing elections are just a byproduct of his misstep here. I will not vote Democrat though.. they poisoned their pool for Iona in my personal sphere..

Trump literally said the cease fire is on life support and Iran has not budged on their demands.

Maybe because it's disingenuous when the full scope of secondary and tertiary issues are omitted?

Is the CPI the highest since 2023?
If there’s an abundance of mitigating factors then how about you discuss them in the replies
