Haven't read the book, though. So, thanks for the YT link.
Retired now for four years. Spent nearly forty years in uniform as a Soldier (both enlisted and commissioned service). Proud of my service and thankful for what the Army did for me. But I wish as I became a more senior officer I had read this book. Eye opening to say the least.

We took away Florida flight schools???
Its going to be way harder to pay for them with funds originating from terrorist organizations today and also good luck trying to get into a cockpit during a flight even if you do get the flight training.

‘fighting for our freedom’?
maybe they're fighting for "freedom" in general, and not just ours........although whooping arse in other countries keeps them off our lawn so in essence, our freedom isn't fricked with.......until the dems get control and try to silence us.

The war with Mexico. Of course we were fighting for our freedom to take what we wanted and were going to get one way or the other, but your question was vague!

At least during the first few years, I think you could make a case that the war in Afghanistan would fit that description. That said, we should have been out of there the day after Bin Laden was killed

Listened to the free audio book version of “War is a Racket” by Smedley Butler last night. Very sobering. And more than a bit depressing. Published ninety years ago and still true today.
- which is lots of them
yes? no? going goon?

War from the industrial age to present would be a good start. But an argument could be made that all war is truly resource driven. Which makes the argument that one combatant is more “right” than their opponent is (in my opinion) ludicrous. The winner (cynically but truthfully) writes history.

Our freedom and security are provided by the Navy and Air Force....in conjuction with two massive oceans. Our Army and Marines are used to impose our will on others to protect our friends and interests.

not my point, but thats fine
I dont suppose that a single day of the industrial age had no war, raging or otherwise: "right", "wrong", or "just "goonish".
which would lead to the conclusion that war is an inevitable part of humanity in an industrial age.

A man said that just now.
James came through the Nicene political convention? A man said that then too. Much alteration?
