There is a huge difference in walking around a church parking lot giving out tickets and going into rural areas, down a drive, and busting down a door for guns. You tell most sheriff’s deputies to go down to that house way out in the country, and bust down a door and try and take some guns and he will tell them he’s not getting his arse shot up for a governor who can’t leave the house without guards.

Yep. Plus US citizens are conditioned into handing over their rights every time the government says "emergency". 9/11? PATRIOT Act! Virus? No more assembly! Future mass shooting or spike in firearm deaths with a Democrat in office? Sorry, 2A doesn't apply anymore!

The Constitution is dead.

The subset willing to defend the 2nd is much smaller than law abiding citizens with guns...look at the response to lock in place orders. Wefookedamiright?

While that is true, once word spreads that the SWAT teams have killed a few families in these raids, most folks will not risk it and will lay down their arms.

It’s easy to talk shite on a message board. It’s harder to deal in that reality when a Bearcat full of fully kitted out SWAT operators roll up in your yard and your wife and kids are at home.

Some will. And I think others will team up and formulate a plan for retaliation.

Duh. Anyone who thinks LEO and/or the military would disobey direct orders in a situation severe enough to necessitate gun confiscation is a fool.

I agree. Local sheriffs are obliging governors who want to turn their states in police states

At least until Karen tells the police about your secret meetings.

In my part of WI there would be some serious guerrilla warfare going on.

That works in opposite too. And just how does the wife and kids being shot up along with the guy play well after the 2nd or so time? Has cops killing a perp stopped other shootings in neighborhoods?

There are more guns in the US than people. In the hundreds of millions. Registered hunters in some states are in larger numbers than some country’s armies. How exactly does a mass gun confiscation logistically even happen?

I feel like I've said, "that's unConstitutional", a million times in the last 45 days.

The state of Wisconsin has gone an entire deer hunting season without someone getting killed. That's great, considering there were over 600,000 hunters that got permits this year. Allow me to restate that number. Over the last two months, the eighth largest army in the world - more men under arms than Iran; more than France and Germany combined - deployed to the woods of a single American state to keep the deer population under control. But that pales in comparison to the 750,000 who are in the woods of Pennsylvania this week. Michigan's 700,000 hunters have now returned home. Toss in a quarter million hunters in West Virginia, and it is literally the case that the hunters of those four states alone would comprise the largest army in the world. And that is just FOUR states. The total population of registered hunters in America today ranges from 23 million to 43.7 million individuals. (Based on annual data provided by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.)As long as the American Hunter retains his right to Bear Arms, America will forever be safe from foreign invasion of troops.

There is a part of me that wants to believe that in total, but I just know it’s not true.

In the matter of a week, people willingly gave up their right to assembly. There is no constitutional mechanism for government to issue stay at home orders.

There isn’t even martial law in the constitution, just the suspension clause for habeas corpus.

As someone mentioned above, there is a large portion of the country that would work in concert with the government to disarm you. You know the media would as well.

I think you’d be shocked how easily this would happen (and likely will happen under democrat control).

No, there really wouldn’t be. You aren’t going to do a damned thing when the APC’s full of troops show up.
