What’s crazy though is that leftists don’t realize that the contemporary cover of postmodern western good intentions are a substitute for the devil’s works. Especially when they justify ad-hoc judgments of right and wrong to appease squeaky wheels that steer the cart the wrong direction either way. This is the reductionist retread Marcusian explanation of man.

It was denied for purely political reasons.

Even if I agreed fully, my point stands.

A discussion about those permits is separate from this incident.

One group holding a purely peaceful get-together might get a violent response from unhinged radicals so shut down the peaceful group.

They shut it down for not having the proper permit.

Because it wasn't needed.

Clearly not a universal opinion, hence the discussion.

That discussion has nothing to do with prior events and their permits.

This was the exact outcome that separation of Church and State tries to avoid, bureaucrat apologist.

You have to have permits for events universally.

I know you may not know this as I doubt you have ever stepped foot in a church but most churches sing songs as part of their worship service. Sometimes these church’s will have guest visitors come in and take part in the musical portion of their worship service. As long as no tickets were sold then this could not be classified as an event. Otherwise every Sunday’s worship service would require a permit and we all know they don’t.

This largely doesn't apply to generally applicable laws. We even had a case posted that had some Canadian Supreme Court cases on this.

You don't just get to claim a religion/religious practice exempts you from most laws. This is when you get into the Satanic Temple saying abortions are part of their religious practice. This is not a hypothetical

quote:

Consistent with our tenets that call for bodily autonomy and acting in accordance with best scientific evidence, The Satanic Temple religiously objects to many of the restrictions that states have enacted that interfere with abortion access. TST is taking many steps on behalf of our members and those who share our beliefs to establish exemptions from laws that do not promote the health and safety of patients and violate our conscience and beliefs.

Mostly correcting all the strawmen and blatant lies

I admit it does bug me how easily people both blatantly lie and post the stupidest responses and claim victory.

What sets you apart IMO isn't the being bugged by dishonest posters or stupidity. It's the "claim victory" part. I'm not giving you a hard time as your schtick doesn't bother me like it does others - you do you - but what I've noticed being different in your posting is an incessant need to grade yourself superior. It's why I said what I did about you deriving something from these threads nobody else does.

Another favorite - "I predicted that 2 + 2 would indeed equal 4 back on August 12, 2013 when nobody else was predicting that (f'n obvious) result. (LINK) I was first again!"
