History of religion is fascinating. Best thing I found was the real name of Jesus. It was Jacob. The spelling in an ancient text was misinterpreted and then just copied through the centuries.
Also 'Yahweh' was just a wild guess at the original Hebrew text which contained no vowels at the time of it's writing.

Finding evidence that cities/cultures referenced in the Bible existed doesn't really prove much re: the religious concepts of the Bible.
Analogy: The existence of NYC does not prove that Spider-Man also existed.

I've not seen this, and Google is not helping. Everything it finds is JAMES' name having been "Jacob."

I always thought Jesus' name was "Yeshua," which was a common name in that time and place.

I think he’s a pedo too but the point remains. Finding historical artifacts or locations does nothing to prove the religious concepts that have been taught through the years

"Yeshua" was the word that got mistranslated from the original ancient text. I saw a photo of some of those texts and they are hard as hell to read. They didn't have typewriters in those days and the elements took a toll.
Another interesting point about ancient documents is those scribes who toiled all day making copies of texts by hand made mistakes.
Even today if you gave a guy 200 pages of hand written text and told him to copy it, when he finished the new 200 pages you would find some mistakes.
Those mistakes got copied by other scribes 100 years later.

Not sure I'm following you.

Are you saying that this early text included the Aramaic version of "Jakov" (Jacob) and that it was erroneously copied as "Yeshua," which eventually became "Jesus?"

In all seriousness, I would like to see the scholarship on this.

Turns out they are finding more and more really old stuff that doesn’t fit into the “standard history“.

Thanks so much older than the Bible, and from all around the world too.

There are some really convincing arguments that a major global flood event happened about 11.5k years ago. Every culture has a flood myth, there is geological evidence of an extraterrestrial impact in the soils of north America that date to that time, and lines up with the date Plato gives for the sinking of Atlantis

Jesus is the Hellenized name of Joshua
James is the Hellenized name of Jacob
Mary is the Hellenized name of Miriam
Simon Barjona is the Hellenized name of Shimon son of Jonah

The problem is, you're thinking of actual text. The original documents look like scratches a bear would make on your windshield. They were guessing at the letters. There are lots of ancient documents that clearly say it was 'Yeshua' but those were copying the much older mistake.

I appreciate that but I'm not gonna go through 100,000 of my videos that deal with history. Hell, I don't even know if my computer saves that many.
