There is a difference between "seeking asylum" legally and illegally.

Entering the US illegally is not erased by claiming asylum.

They are not one in the same. That is where your argument breaks down.

IMO if you enter illegally, asylum should not be allowed, PERIOD.

Meh, we all know that seeking asylum is legal.

We also know that many of the "migrants" trying to get into the USA by crossing our southern border have been coached to say they are seeking asylum for reasons that are not the real reason they are coming here.

That is an abuse of our asylum policy.

Fortunately, since President Trump sent our troops to the southern border and made it clear that we are not going to let the invaders, uh, I mean "migrants" in, thousands of those "migrants" who were going to fraudulently seek asylum here have decided to seek asylum in Mexico.
