We're pretty much forced to imagine toppling Iran since it hasn't happened.
Trump said the other day that gas prices will plummet once the Iran war is over.
If Iran has been toppled then you should probably let Trump know.

List the major battles.
This is where you try to apply an inaccurate and narrow definition of the word and just repeat that over and over again ignoring reality.

why are we thinking Iran gets toppled? is something happening to cause this soon?
Sometimes you have to ask the right question. AI is like our media and many here, it fails when challenged
quote:
Current state of Iran's economy?
quote:
Iran is not facing economic collapse, but it is experiencing a difficult period characterized by recession-level growth, extremely high inflation, sanctions-driven isolation, and declining purchasing power for ordinary citizens
quote:
Is the US blockade close to crumbling the Iran regime?
quote:
The short answer is no, there is no clear evidence that the current U.S.-led economic pressure is on the verge of causing the collapse of the Iranian regime.
When challenged
quote:
I've reviewed the available information and would like you to reassess your conclusion. There appear to be significant cracks within the Iranian regime, including growing infighting among political and military factions. At the same time, Iran is reportedly struggling to export oil and import critical goods due to the blockade and sanctions.
Given those conditions, what indicators are leading you to conclude that the regime remains stable? Please walk through the specific evidence on both sides of the argument and show your reasoning. I'm particularly interested in the factors that support continued regime survival despite the economic collapse, political infighting, and trade restrictions.
quote:
Your core argument is stronger than I initially credited.
Iran is not stable in the ordinary economic or political sense. The stability that remains is primarily:
coercive control;
residual bureaucratic capacity;
a loyal ideological/security core;
fragmented opposition;
the absence, so far, of a verified large-scale military split.
That is a much thinner foundation than oil reserves, population size, or historical survival would suggest.
If the blockade remains effective and fresh oil exports stay close to zero, the regime cannot rely indefinitely on historical resilience. It must eventually do one of four things:
make major concessions to reopen trade;
find a new route around the blockade;
escalate militarily in an attempt to break it;
absorb an intensifying fiscal and political breakdown.
Therefore, my revised objective judgment is:
The Iranian regime is not yet demonstrably in terminal collapse, but it is closer to a regime-threatening crisis than my earlier answer indicated. Its near-term survival remains slightly more likely than immediate overthrow, but continued blockade conditions could push it past the tipping point within months rather than decades.
AI is basically following the same talking points here and in the media, Iran will not fall. Then you make them show their work and they are months from collapse. Iran will fall, there is no reason to argue it any longer.
Iran is a castle under siege. The U.S. isn't trying to storm the walls, it's trying to starve the castle. Oil exports are the grain wagons and gold caravans. If they can't get out, the treasury dries up. If goods can't get in, shortages grow. The real danger isn't the walls collapsing, it's the nobles inside starting to fight over dwindling resources while the garrison wonders how long it will be paid. A castle usually falls when supplies run out, the ruling class turns on itself, and someone finally opens a gate from the inside. Based on recent reports, Iran appears to be facing the first two conditions already

Yeah you’d have to imagine because here in reality the Islamic republic is still running Iran and Trump looks like a dumbass.

On some things. The analogy is very sophomoric, however. The democrats haven’t slaughtered thousands of my friends and relatives (except for unborn babies, of course). The fact you keep trying to compare Iran to the US shows an extreme amount of ignorance on your part.
We aren't more extreme because we haven't spent the past 75 years being attacked and influenced by a foreign super power.
You make the same arguments I heard for Iraq.

If Russia did that to us, will it make you want a pro Russia government?

Every loss of life hurts, but that would be quite a number. About 1,000 Americans have been killed in attacks attributed to Iran or Iran-backed groups since the 1979 Iranian Revolution Iran is not done yet, but siege warfare is undefeated when you can accomplish it.
Iran is energy and resource independent. No amount of sanctions will accomplish anything once you understand that.
Trump will be forced to make a deal soon.
Watch this and figure out who is winning

Yea. Imagine.

I never mentioned weapons. I mentioned the Mullahs. As per sisal you spout NPC talking points and when pressed for details you cannot provide anything of substance. That should tell you something. It doesn’t. You double down.

Under what circumstance or definition does the word “war” require pitched battles?
