Dems would make it the national anthem if they could.

It's a really naive, stupid song.

It's a very pretty song, but the lyrics are straight-up pillars of communism. Sadly, it really does kinda ruin it for me because I feel like I'm listening to something that was crafted in Beijing by a team of commie scientists.

Japanese, my arse. Yoko is a red.

Imagine we're all equally slaves living purposeless lives in a meaningless universe; so just live for today, there are no consequences, there are no absolutes, grovel in your pleasure, you worthless animal.

One of the worst songs ever written, by one of the best songwriters.

It was intended to be a commie political song, he toned the lyrics to sound more generic so the masses would accept it

I love the Beatles but I've always preferred the McCartney songs over the Lennon songs.

Lennon had some good ones (Lucy in the Sky, Helter Skelter, Strawberry Fields) but McCartney fronted the best of the best- Hey Jude, Elanor Rigby, Yesterdays, etc.

I generally try to refrain from paying attention to actors and musicians political views, as it would leave me with little to be entertained by.

the national anthem

Lord, I hope not. Even though it speaks to the modern generation and is more accessible than the current anthem, it glorifies nihilism in all its forms. Imagine no country, no heaven, no hell below us, above us only sky...the more you listen to it, it morphs from childlike naivete to an evil abomination.

It is really a perfect song.

Except that money and power rule the world we live in.

Then it is just wishful thinking by the naive.

It is a shame that good is not allowed the opportunity to flourish.

But we can try.
