I’m thinking the shift in public perception is finally happening re. Economy v Virus

Think it’s finally becoming mainstream outside of the poli board and other right wing circles that this thing is getting ridiculous. 17 million jobs and counting for a death toll now projected to be around the average suicide rate per year. I think any politician pitching shutdown longer than the start of or mid May would be in serious trouble right now.

Many people were thinking it way before they could say it.
(If you expressed this opinion on Twitter for the last two weeks you instantly killed 1,000 grandmothers.)

I used to get downvotes for posting that.

Hopefully all of the doctors and nurses will get the help they need for the PTSD they’ll undoubtedly have from serving on the front lines for so long.

If I was polling the public 70-30 on opening up.
Louisiana is probably 55-45 in favor of opening up

Lots of people in rural LA think it’s just a Nola problem

Your decrease is worth it so our hospitals can be less busy than usual

I believe people in the larger cities are legitimately concerned about coronavirus. The rural areas in Louisiana are probably 70% in favor of opening back up.

We can’t destroy the economy and millions of Americans livelihood over this virus. I think the vast majority of Americans believe this.

Once social media shaming dies out well really see the public’s opinion about this

Do we never swim again after a jellyfish sting?
Do we never drive again after a traffic accident?
Does everyone stop flying after one plane crashes?
At some point you have to just start living again. It is about that time for most of the country.

A vast majority of the public wants to continue social distancing.
As always, you live in a tiny bubble that is not representative of reality.

Well, the virus is real. But, the ridiculous overreaction and fearmongering are real and have/continue to cause enourmous economic impact for millions of people. Way more than would have died from covid.

Anything that causes the president of he U.S. to ban travel from Europe and China is not a hoax. Bad news at this point is it appears we are all gonna get it at some point unless an effective vaccine suddenly appears. Good news is about half the people who contract it wouldn't know they were sick were it not for the publicity and most of the rest are merely quarantined. Further good news is we shall then have "herd" immunity. Better news is most people are more fearful of losing our country than a contagious version of the flu and we shall shortly get back to work.

Not even remotely true.
I work for Salesforce in Atlanta and my entire team including our extending departments want to return to work and back to normal circumstances.
99% of my coworkers arent even remotely fond of the president but want to end social distancing coming back to the office.
You’re in a very tight progressive bubble with your Emory and SCAD friends and we know you don’t seek information outside of it

Libs message continues to change. They Cleary see this as an avenue to discredit Trump and swing the election. They don't give a Frick how many people suffer economically. I have been saying it for a month. Quarantine high risk, improve hygiene, social distance within reason and get back to work.

Social distancing is not a shutdown
I think we’ll open up with restrictions but the notion that going to the barber is more dangerous than flying or Lowe’s is retarded
