I'm glad Jimmy Carter lived long enough to see he is not the worst President in history

Overall he is a good humanitarian that has done a lot of good post-presidency instead of just enriching himself like Clinton and Obama.
Good to see he can die knowing he is only the 2nd worse thanks to Joe.

If the Biden administration isn’t the low point for effective leadership and decision making this nation won’t make it another 10-15 years before balkanization occurs

Carter was a pretty smart guy who had bad judgment and poor instincts. He was in over his head as president. And he wasn’t a scumbag character who enriched himself through corruption and selling out America.
Biden is just flat out stupid, undoubtedly the dumbest president in US history, along with bad judgment and poor instincts. Throw in his disgusting nature and character, his pathological dishonesty, along with his corruption and you do indeed have the worst president in US history.

honestly the role of the executive branch pre-Civil War and the relative power of the federal government versus the power of the state governments in those days was so unrecognizable to how we operate now that it’s a purely academic discussion and not super worthwhile with Buchanan vs Biden. Both were very ineffectual and weak leaders who failed to unite their nation for a common goal. That’s about all I can draw on to even compare the two.
Obviously Buchanan is going to catch immense flak for watching the nation fall apart under his watch and fail to respond with much urgency. But hey, it’s early for Biden. Let’s see what he can do in three more years

I always like Jimmy Carter. I remember when I was in high school he was running for President, the two things I remember about him was the way he said nuclear and his brother Billy with the Billy beer thang….lol

He was a do nothing President at the most crucial time in the nation's history up to that point. He did nothing to address the growing divide between the north and south during his Presidency. After Lincoln was elected he agreed that the southern states had the right to secede from the USA but did nothing to stop them either. He even refused to send representatives from the federal government to the Peace Conference of 1861 because he was content to leave the problems to Lincoln.

He was more responsible than any other single person for the Civil War, he bribed the USSC to rule as they did on Dredd Scott and his cabinet was the most overtly corrupt in history.
