If failure to sell Greenland is the sole reason he canceled his trip, then I am not particularly fond of that decision on its own...

However, I would imagine there was some talk about them not even getting close to their 2% GDP for NATO and how Greenland would / could go a long way to helping make up for that, all while strengthening NATO... I bet Trump even offered to cover their part of NATO as part of the deal...

The U.S. built three of the existing airports on Greenland and still maintains a missile defense base in Thule...

Couple my suspicions there and the PM calling the notion of selling "absurd" in public and I really do not blame him for canceling his trip...

Still, I say the idea of purchasing could have been handled better as well...

Because the trip was planned before Trump ever gave one thought to Greenland.

Because us the public know all the details of everything that goes on?? Is there 100% proof that he did not plan on "buying" Greenland before the public was aware of it.

The Prime Minister was able to save a great deal of expense and effort for both the United States and Denmark by being so direct,” Trump tweeted Tuesday night. “I thank her for that and look forward to rescheduling sometime in the future!”
what is so hard to understand about canceling a meeting when the most important item on the agenda(Trumps agenda) gets taken off the table.

Think of it this way, if an LSU football game at Mississippi State was canceled would you still fricking go to Starkville?

Pandering, means falsely playing up to someone, to gain their support. It's cheap politics.
That's what you want Your President to do with Denmark.
He doesn't need their support, but you want him to kiss their arse anyway. You support pandering. You are a stupid bitch.

Call me cruel, but the feelings of the Danes don't really register with me.

Hell, I find it difficult to care about what insults people from friggin' New Hampshire

Fair enough. But see the comments to this thread as well as every other thread on PT and you’ll find just about entire PT board will defend anything and everything.

Quit being disingenuous. There are several of us who will call him out on his antics and several threads to back that up.

Look up the recent red flag law thread for one example. More than I can say for the Dems that's for damn sure. Not a single peep outside of MAYBE Ted who will call a spade a spade.

Because there is more to this.
No way is he cancelling a planned US gov trip to a ally over just this.

What if this was going to be a surprise and the IC over hears and ruins the occasion?

Bingo. No president gets a permanent pass with me, whether I voted for them or not.

Not going is textbook "Art of the Deal."

Oh, you want to publicly shut me down? Well then, you're not getting all that global PR of a presidential visit. Get back with me when you can learn to keep your mouth shut.

So Denmark’s PM answering a question about Greenland wherein she states Greenland is not Denmark’s to sell is grounds for an “Art of the Deal” I’m picking up my ball and going home power move?

Hey, I want to buy your house.

That’s not my house.

frick you, I’m not speaking to you until you agree to sell me that house!

Wut?

It’s people like you who are going to cause a dem to win. I’ve never supported or voted for a dem and won’t now. But people like you, vicious nasty people who’ll defend the most grotesque, immoral or downright silly actions and statements of this president are going to guarantee a dem win. If you’d held him to any standard whatsoever he might have gotten better. As it stands now he won’t gain any voters; he’ll only lose them. So pat yourself on the back when the next president appoints a RBG-like justice.

I don't agree with this. I think the blatant partisanship of the MSN and Liberal policians has shifted some voters to Trump's side. And I don't think his tweets or slip ups will lose many previous followers.
