I'm a staunch conservative living uptown.

My parents turned conservative before their share croppers before them. I live in a comfortable house uptown, I deal with Democrats stealing from our porch daily, something has to be done, I have voted Democrat until Trump was elected, I have remained on this street with my concieled carry

You know what's coming, T; tick tock...just a matter of when. That kind of stress does dirty work under the psychological covers.
I know a lot of people love their Urban life, where they call home, the (former) cultural ambience and historical power. My wife was reared in the City; she loved it. Back when. And you may well think staying there is worth bearing the current burden. Your work may factor in as well. Economics.
But I can attest that sitting with a peaceful and beautiful Nature at the end or beginning of the day, offers spiritual rewards that make old and problematic attachments...a moot issue.
Who knows, if Trump wins next year and the 'counter revolution' continues...if high tech is applied in ways that undermine current cultural decay and the dispassionate (fake love) narcissistic (virtue signaling) Fascist Ideological hegemony...then it is possible that your life where you are may get better. Or it can all come crashing down within the space of a week. Think Katrina. Or that Chinese Viral Flu. Or an EMP from desperate Islamists.
Good luck. Or you might consider Faith. It's an 'irrational' leap for sure...but Life is a miraculous event anyway. Fermi Paradox nws.
